Sam Lewis, owner and founder of FlyMyCourse Ltd, competes her Irish sport horse regularly at BE100 and, for the second year running, is desperate to get to Badminton Grassroots on a single ticket this year! Late to the sport – she was an international swimmer in her youth and forbidden to ride — she didn’t get her first horse until her mid 30s. Undeterred, she’s now a BHSAI instructor and a passionate ambassador for eventing. A journalist by trade, Sam has written for magazines including Your Horse, Horse & Hound and goes on regular assignments abroad for National Geographic Traveller, usually managing to find a horse to ride wherever she is in the world.
Tony Roddam, co-founder of FlyMyCourse Ltd, is a photographer, drone pilot and private pilot. Formerly a journalist with Reuters, Tony moved into public relations and spent 10 years with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, developing and harnessing the power of video, photos and multimedia communications for that charity’s amazing volunteers. He left the RNLI in early 2017 to pursue a career as a drone pilot and combine his passions for photography, aviation and multimedia. His work can be viewed on Alamy and at Picfair.
FlyMyCourse – the charity link
Both Sam and Tony are passionate about supporting the charity and volunteer sector and wanted to make this central to FlyMyCourse. We believe our aerial course walks will not only enhance your competitiveness and enjoyment but also your safety while eventing.
Rider safety is close to our hearts at FlyMyCourse and we all understand this wonderful sport is not without risk. We really appreciate the role played by the emergency services in helping riders after a tumble.
For this reason we donate £1 to the Air Ambulance in your event’s region every time you purchase an aerial course walk from us. We hope you will support us in this.
